eDocumentus (pdf)

Apart from eDocumentus application, which is a stand-alone software, eDocumentus can be integrated into the existing applications in several ways. A variety of integration options contribute to the large flexibility of eDocumentus. Offering a standard means of communication, eDocumentus can be easily integrated in different production environments, programmed by the use of different technologies (Java, C#, .net...). eDocumentus allows the following integration forms:

  • Java Library
  • Web Services
  • Webdav
  • iFrame
  • Outlook
  • Windows explorer

Using eDocumentus as Java Library and its API, eDocumentus is easily integrated into any Java based application, thus obtaining document management and workflow functions with ease. Starting eDocumentus methods directly provides the most efficient integration option.

Web services represent a standard communication mode not only between two applications, but also among applications written in different technologies. Integration through the use of web services allows the integration of eDocumentus into the application written in C#, net.

WebDav represents an upgrade of http protocol, and allows file organization and modification directly on web servers. eDocumentus contains servlettes which encode this protocol, thus enabling all applications using WebDav protocols and direct operations with documents. For instance, Microsoft Word is an application that supports WebDav protocol, so by using Word, one can directly edit documents on the eDocumentus server, without the use of temporary files.

Viewing documents using WebDav protocol results in an xml that can be easily transformed, by the use of XSL transformations, to a format suitable for integration into any web application as a separate iFrame. In this manner, eDocumentus is fully integrated into the existing applications, and users need to learn only how to operate this additional part, while the rest of application remains the same.

eDocumentus contains the plug-in for the Microsoft Outlook Application. The plug-in allows folder and case synchronization in both directions, as well as the synchronization of Outlook tasks with tasks in eDocumentus. Therefore, users who are used to work with Outlook do not have to change their working habits due to introduction of the new application. This plug-in also provides comfortable working conditions in the offline mode since the synchronization is executed automatically, the moment eDocumentus server becomes available.

Windows Explorer supports WebDav protocol, so viewing documents in eDocumentus is also available by the use of this application. A user can work with eDocumentus documents as with any documents available on the local file system.

Offering a large number of integration options, eDocumentus will not change your work mode – it will simply make it easier.
